ECE & Mathematics, Engineering Honors · UT Austin
Embedded systems engineer and PCB designer. Intern at Baker Hughes on the Artificial Lift Systems team. Building race car electronics with Longhorn Racing (Formula SAE) at UT Austin.
Experience
Baker Hughes
May 2026 – Aug 2026
Previous Intern at Baker Hughes
- Designed high-voltage inverter PCBs (2 per phase, 6 per drive) for the FusionPro VSD drive: DC to 3-phase AC conversion feeding the filter driving an ESP motor downhole in oil and gas wells; supporting ~5 drives/week produced in Claremore.
- Built HIL simulation of full VSD system chain using Typhoon HIL, integrated over a local network interface to an HMI for real-time operator monitoring and control.
- Wrote 4 Python scripts to interface with test equipment, automating fault/edge-case validation across drive test phases.
- Built Python tool (Tkinter, pandas, FPDF) to process and visualize dyno datasets spanning 4-40 hours of per-second logged data, auto-generating formatted test reports and cutting report creation time from 10-40 hours down to 1-8 hours.
Longhorn Racing (Formula SAE)
Sep 2025 – Present
CurrentEmbedded Systems Engineer
- Owned start-to-finish design of 4 Upright Sensor PCBs: schematic, layout, component selection, and bring-up.
- Validated Hall effect sensors and firmware integration for accurate wheel speed measurement at 1 kHz.
- Designed wire harness connecting 33 PCBs, routing 180+ meters of CAN + power wiring in RapidHarness.
Texas A&M University
May 2024 – Apr 2026
Computer Science Research Intern
- Designed ML-based malware detection pipeline; developed and refined 35+ YARA rules and conducted longitudinal studies of open-source repositories with SQLAlchemy + Plotly for data visualization.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Mar 2025, May 2026
HPE Certified Technical Lead + Summer Externship
- Led PM team in 8-hour MVP simulation at HPE HQ, directing 2 sub-teams across data API and programming.
- Delivered working MVP on deadline; HPE-issued certification (Cert ID 9075).
iCode Cypress
Aug 2024 – Apr 2025
Lead Instructor
- Instructed 48 K-12 students in TensorFlow, web development, game development, and other STEM topics.
- Promoted from Lab Mentor to Lead Instructor within the first month for demonstrated leadership.
Projects
Upright Sensor Module
Sep 2025 – May 2026Longhorn Racing (Formula SAE)
- Designed four 4-layer PCBs integrating 4 Hall effect sensors, 6-axis IMU, and CAN transceiver on an MCU.
- Wrote bare-metal firmware for sensor sampling, CAN message packing, and transmission at 1 kHz.
OpenBGC 2-Axis Brushless Gimbal Controller
In progressPersonal Project
June 2026 – Present
- Owning start-to-finish hardware design and integration of a custom 4-layer PCB around an STM32G474, driving 2 brushless motors through dual gate drivers and 12 MOSFETs.
- Implementing FOC actuator control in bare-metal C: Clarke/Park transforms, SVPWM, PID at 20 kHz.
4-Digit Stopwatch
Spring 2026Digital Logic Design – UT Austin
- Designed and implemented a 4-digit countup/countdown stopwatch in Verilog on a Basys 3 FPGA, with increment, decrement, and synchronous reset controls mapped to onboard pushbuttons and slide switches.
- Synthesized RTL design in Xilinx Vivado; drove 7-segment display with time-multiplexed scanning at 1 kHz refresh.
Game Box v1.0
Apr 2026UT Embedded Systems
- Designed a custom-PCB handheld game console: TI MSPM0G3507, ST7735 LCD, R-2R DAC, joystick, SD card.
- Built an SD-card game loader with interrupt-driven sampled audio playback and a sprite rendering engine.
Facial Recognition Device
Apr – May 2025Multi-MCU System
- Built a 3-MCU face-tracking device with ML classification, servo pan/tilt, TFT display, and joystick override.
- Designed the UART protocol coordinating vision, classification, and motion across all three microcontrollers.
Stream-Based Malware Detection
2024Texas A&M Research
- Built a security analysis pipeline with 35+ YARA rules, SBOM generation via Dependency-Track, and Plotly dashboards.
- Conducted longitudinal studies tracking security posture changes across open-source repositories.
